Every 2024 Ford F-150 engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Five of the six F-150 engine options are built with the Ford port fuel and direction injection (PFDI) system, with the exception being the supercharged V8, which delivers its fuel to the cylinders via port fuel injection with twin high-flow fuel pumps.

2023 Ford F-150 Engine Differences

3.3L Ti-VCT V6

The standard 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine achieves a respectable 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. What is Ti-VCT? Ti-VCT, or twin independent variable camshaft timing, opens and closes valves at precise intervals to optimize power output. This 3.3L V6 engine also comes with a port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system, which boasts two injectors per cylinder. 

2.7L EcoBoost® V6

To achieve impressive performance, the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine is paired with the PFDI system. This helps the 2.7L reach up to 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

5.0L Ti-VCT V8

PFDI and Ti-VCT capabilities together combine to achieve up to 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque in the 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine. 

3.5L EcoBoost V6

Achieve the maximum available towing capacity when you choose the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. This F-150 engine can tow up to 14,000 pounds and achieve up to 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. 

3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6

Environmentally-conscious drivers will appreciate the 3.5L PowerBoost™ full hybrid V6 engine, which boasts MPG ratings of 25 city and 25 highway. This unique gas and electric truck engine produces 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. 

High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6

Available exclusively on the F-150 Raptor trim, the high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine is engineered to take your breath away with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. 

High-Output 5.2L Supercharged V8

Exclusive to the Raptor equipment group called the Raptor R™, the high-output 5.2L supercharged V8 engine goes even further and reaches up to 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. 

2023 Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

What is towing capacity? Your F-150 model’s towing capacity is the maximum trailer weight that your truck can safely tow. This includes the weight of the trailer itself, plus the weight of cargo in the trailer. Towing capacity is calculated by subtracting your F-150 model’s curb weight from your Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating (GCVWR). 

What is GCVWR? GCVWR is the weight of your F-150 and the trailer you plan to tow with combined, including all cargo. What is curb weight? Curb weight is the total weight of your F-150 with all liquids that take to run it, including a full tank of gas.
